Let’s go crazy and create a journal that breaks all the rules.
We’ll mix loads of different types of papers (grid, accounting, black, tracing, brown, drawing, craft, vellum, and more). We’ll stitch it all together over bands and then attach to fun fabric glued to boards. Buttons sewn on the covers will stabilize the whole bit and then the fun begins. Let’s decorate the pages with stitching, found papers, tiny envelopes, ribbons, fabric – your imagination is the only limitation. You’ll go home with the book and a list of techniques for continuing to embellish as you wish.
All supplies and tools will be provided but participants are encouraged to bring fabric they may want for covers (2 pieces 10” high and 6” wide) and six buttons for the front and back to attach bands. The instructor will bring some fabrics and buttons as well.
Class will be held at the Solana Event Space on Saturday, March 8 from 9am-Noon(ish)
