So many years ago my hubby asked for slippers ๐ซฃ Anyone who knows him, knows he LOVES all things tanks! (Our license plates are names of WWII tanks๐) When I found the fun tank slippers pattern I knew it was a winner.
He has worn these tank slippersslick!!! To be fair he works from home, so these are his everyday footwear.
So ......... These slippers ๐ฎโ๐จ
V 1.0- I'm pretty sure I made them somewhere around 2016/2017. ๐คท
V 2.0-Addtion of leather to help with the wearing on the sole.
V 3.0- Sole is still wearing out ๐ณ I pull off the leather and sandwich the old sole between 2 new soles and add the leather back on. With the warning that these slippers have had it!
V 4.0- So as hubby goes out of town last week, I come home from work to the slippers upside down on the table next to my knitting chair! Large hint, right ๐ซฃ so I start thinking ๐ค I REALLY just need to make new slippers, but I don't have time for that. Re-sole it is! I grab 100% wool and crochet 4 soles, sew 2 together and give them a good wash to get them felted, that should be good right!?!?! I just kept thinking it's such a bandaid, there has to be something better. ๐ก Last year I made my big kid some slipper slides with rope cording soles & he doesn't like slides ๐ญ but being the great kiddo that he is, he didn't throw them out ๐๐ Time for some Frankenstein! I cut off the slide portion of the slipper, sew on the felted wool for the inside & the leather on the bottoms and add it to the existing tank. The soles are now indestructible & I'm pretty sure the tank is going to give out soon ๐ซฃ๐ซฃ๐ซฃ
Stay tuned ..........
